Located in Bellingham’s Lettered Streets neighborhood, this detached ADU. Designed primarily for visiting family and friends, the home is organized to strengthen its connection to the shared backyard. Large openings on the west elevation create a strong indoor-outdoor relationship, while the east elevation is more private, responding to the adjacent alley.

Cost-conscious design played an important role throughout the project. The exterior balances durable, economical 7/8-inch corrugated metal siding with selective use of Kebony wood accents that match the decking.
