Founder and Owner-Tyler Compari

I grew up on a farm in New Jersey, where I spent much of my childhood working with my hands and learning how things are built, repaired, and improved. Summers were spent baling alfalfa hay—a formative experience that inspired the name of my dog, Alfalfa, and ultimately the name Falfa Workshop.

I earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia before moving to Santa Cruz, California, where I worked as a carpenter on high-end residential remodels, gaining hands-on experience from foundation to finish. Over the following decade, I built a diverse career in the construction and design industry, working as a carpenter, architectural drafter, metalworker, plans examiner, and real estate developer.

In 2019, I relocated to Bellingham, Washington, and joined the City of Bellingham as a Plans Examiner. There, I developed an in-depth understanding of the permitting process, building codes, and the regulatory side of residential construction.

After more than ten years working across multiple facets of the built environment, I founded Falfa Workshop to provide thoughtful residential architectural services that adapt to the specific goals, scope, and budget of each project.

My goal is to help homeowners navigate the design and permitting process with confidence while delivering well-crafted solutions tailored to their needs.
